How It Works

Scheduling Your Consultation

  • Once you have reviewed the Rates/Services tab and are ready to book your consultation, you may reach out via the Booking Request page or by clicking here.

  • Dates book up quickly (typically 4-6 weeks out) and are on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Once we choose a date and time for our meeting and you will receive an invoice/deposit request and links to the pre-consultation questionnaire and agreement/waiver.  These forms provide additional insight into your situation and the cat's history.

  • The pre-consultation forms and $50 deposit must be received within 72-hours of booking.  If these are not received within 72-hours, appointment is subject to cancellation.  $50 deposit goes toward your consultation fee (not in addition to).

    • If you cancel less than 72-hours of our scheduled appointment, booking deposit will be forfeited.

    • If you have not confirmed within 12 hours of your appointment time, The Cat Counselor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule your consultation.

Consultation Overview

  • Consults are very informal and conversational – don’t be nervous

  • There are no “stupid” questions - if you aren’t sure, please ask

  • Consultations generally take about 90 minutes, depending on the severity of the case

  • First, we will review your questionnaire and discuss your case

  • Next, we will discuss the recommendations for managing and addressing the behavior concerns

  • If time allows, we will practice skills

  • Within 3 business days, you will receive your full behavior report & recommendations.  This will be a combination of behavior modification, environmental enrichment and positive reinforcement.  There may also be links to any products that were discussed.

  • Follow-up after our meeting is highly encouraged and is the responsibility of the client.
